Top 3 thing you should do everyday to be a prepared artist

Everyday life is chaos and there are always so many things pulling us this way and that way. In order to create order in our lives there are 3 things that should be done everyday, to remain focused and productive.

1 ) Make a list of tasks that need to be completed for the day.

You will feel a sense of accomplishment as you check off the tasks.

It can be for the home such as folding laundry and make a grocery list.

It can be for your business such as create a blog post or work on books.

It can be for school or work such as finish final project for class or catalog books.

My list is a blend of all three and there are anywhere from 4 items to around 10 items. I work full time, take classes for my masters, have a home business and have a family. The list help keep me in order.

2 ) Take a moment for yourself. In the morning take a moment to take deep breaths, smudge yourself, stretching. Take a moment to enjoy the beautiful day and give thanks for the day you have before you. This moment prepares you for the day and the tasks you need to get done. If you don't care for yourself, you can 't take care of others and the hundred things on your plate.

I personally stretch, take a few deep breaths and tell myself it is time to adult. I try to smudge but if I am honest it is not every morning as it should be. I also listen to podcasts as I drive to work. My personal favorite the Creative Penn, even her updates inspire me to keep going. https://www.thecreativepenn.com

3 ) Listen. When you listen to hear and not respond, you can gain knowledge. Learn something new each day.

It could be something as small as a short cut key on Excel or hearing about a new program.

It could be learning about organizing and the benefit to making lists. :)

Be open to learning. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

I personally am known by the IT for the cataloging program that my library uses. I call at least once a week with a question and they walk me through it. I am usually pretty curious and want to figure out how to do things and then I have that in my tool belt for the future.

Learning helps you to be prepared and to gain the ability to adapt to any situation.

Happy creating.
